Roller derby is the best workout! I have NEVER played a sports before this. Derby completely changed the way I treat my body - the way I exercise on and off skates, and how I eat. I fall down a million times every week, but I have never felt so great!

I joined Roller Derby to get out of the house and find a hobby, but it turned into so much more. It has made me more confident in myself and pushed me past where I thought my breaking point was. I really enjoy working with all these strong, independent women. Oh each and it's a great was to get out some aggression!!

I love that roller derby offers an automatic community of acceptance. Meeting people I never otherwise would have had the chance to know over the last 10 years has been incredible. Also, skating, I love roller skating.

MCL tear, several broken noses and fingers, bruised femur, arthritis in my 20's, bursitis and a labral tear in my hip(I'm old!) and too many bruises to remember. Also one very big broken heart when my derby wife moved away 3

I love that people accept each other no matter what. I couldn't skate when I started and I was still treated the same as everyone else.
I have had a concussion and numerous bruises.

I have NO IDEA, but I keep coming back for more.
My only actual roller derby injury is a jammed finger. A hyperextended knee/subsequent surgery and broken wrist from other adventures kept me from playing though.
