All Stars Co-Captain
Year Started Derby: 2010
Main Position: Jammer
I love the rush it gives me! I enjoy the physical aspect and the teamwork. I love being a speedy gazelle and hopping around *ping ping ping* and smashing my really jagged hips into my opponents.
In my day to day life I am a crazy cat lady and tea enthusiast. I'm pretty awkward and always set my microwave on fire. My best friend says I'm a "ND". You will never know what that means. I love pie. Pie is the best!
Nothing big, I've sprained my ankle and have had back injuries. I'm made of tea and pie. You can't break that right?

Roller derby gives everyone the ability to be a badass. I have learned so much more about my body and my abilities than I ever could have imagined playing any other sport.

Skating has been in my blood for many years since my first job at a skating rink in high school. Why not join a Roller Derby team - skates, high-contact, adrenaline, girls? But the more you skate the more you learn Roller Derby is so much more. Its challenging your self to do things that in all aspects of sense and self-preservation are crazy. And its perfect! A girl hits your hard and you return the favor in kind. Someone out smarts you and you take note to not fall for that trick again. You get faster, quicker, and trickier on your feet. You are constantly growing and learning not just as a skater, but as a teammate, as a person, and as a friend.

Main Position: Blocker/Jammer/Pivot
Occupation: Hairdresser and Special Education Paraeducator
I love hitting people and making friends, it's a wonderful combination.
Separated shoulder, broken tailbone, 2 concussions (and numerous sprained ankles and sprained fingers)
Occupation: Digital Developer
I love the intensity of roller derby. It pushes your limits, emotionally and physically. My favorite part is "levelling up" even if it is small skills you master one at a time. Nailing a hip hit, owning a power jam, jumping the apex or even just soul crushing a jammer. When it clicks— and you make it happen it feels good, really really good.
When ICT plays and WE make it happen as a team, that also feels really really good.
Year Started Derby: 2012
Occupation: Registered Nurse
Everything! What's not to love? Every other day I get to fly around the track at super speeds and run into people as hard as I can. Have you ever tried that anywhere else? It doesn't go over very well. I met my fiancee X-MENTAL playing roller derby and it's awesome that we get to travel around playing different teams together. This sport is international but also has a strong community spirit. I love this sport and I will keep skating until my feet fall off. Expect to see 95 year old Nuke on a track near you.
Meniscus tear (surgical repair), broken hand, scratched cornea, various bumps and bruises.
Year Started Derby: 2011
I love the camaraderie of our league working in an entirely DIY environment building on our own, and each other's, strengths to set and accomplish our goals season after season. Also, the hitting, obvs.
Broken ankle, torn PCL, broken tailbone

The most rewarding thing about roller derby is just how empowering it is.
It’s a good way to stay in shape, is incredibly fun, and has some of the nicest, sweetest, most awesome girls/friends I have met.
I fell/sat on a skate wheel once. I had a bruise in the perfect shape of a wheel. That was fun.
Main Position: Blocker/
Occupation: Server at Carlos O'Kellys
I enjoy the bond you build with the people you play with and the confidence and self esteem you build for yourself! And of course hitting people
none while playing surprisingly

The people in roller derby are incredible. I also love the sport and love being a part of something that is so empowering for women. When you play roller derby you find your voice and discover how strong you really are.

The amazing teamwork and how competive it is.
Occupation: Mental health Nurse
Roller derby is a sport that draws you in, it's my magical unicorn of love and sore bits..... I fell in love at first skate. I can skate really fast, and hit people REALLY HARD, and not go to jail!! It's also very strategic and sneaky...I enjoy well planned sneaky times. I met my wife playing derby! She's that tall drink of water, NUKE! Derby is a HUGE (world wide) community of people, who are accepting, diverse and all-inclusive. You could show up wearing a moo moo, Elvis wig , covered in bee's and we would be like " You should totally come play roller derby with us ". My Teammates are like family....a big family who hit one another, and slap one another on the Arse. Can I say that? Oops!
LCL Elbow tear, partial LCL knee tear, UCL thumb tear, A couple of bloody noses. Non surgical injuries, Thank Goodness.
